Some people think because they are poor they are not meant to give and that GOD understands their condition. While on the other hand the rich think they should give because they are rich. But the questing to ask is this what exactly makes people give? People don’t necessarily give because they have. So don’t think that someone is meant to give because they have. Likewise, those who have little should not think they are exempted from giving because they have just a little. Everyone as far as GOD is concerned always has something to give. In this case, it’s not what you give that counts, but that you have given something cheerfully according to your capacity. People give, or not give primarily not because of what they have, or don’t have. It’s not about their condition. Rather, it’s about [i] how generous they are at heart. People who are of a generous heart give not minding their condition [ii] the revelation a person has about giving, [iii] their mindset. The way a person thinks in his or her mind determines how the person lives (Proverb. 23: 7). People who have a crooked mindset about giving and have been misinformed about it will hardly give. But then, they themselves wouldn’t mind receiving from someone else. How amazing? It shows there’s something extraordinary about giving. Giving is Grace-based; it’s an expression of faith and love. It is a partnership to promote a good cause in the lives of people. It is a magnetic force, which attracts from the supernatural world similar or related good. Whether you give to help meet a person’s need, or to promote a good cause, your constant or consistent giving again and again supernaturally germinates, grows, and multiplies itself until what was initially one small seed working together with other success factors in your life will produce such a great harvest. Know this now; your seed sown is the oil that lubricates other success factors in your life for upward continuous harvest. Did you ever wonder why every great person in the world, ever since, even the unbelieving ones among them, all are committed to giving continually a portion of their proceeds to either promote a good cause, support creativity, or help the needs of others? It is because they understand very well, and have experienced for themselves these two proverbs of Jesus, “…it makes one more blessed (happier, more fulfilled) to give than to receive.” (Acts 20: 35). And the next, “I can guarantee this truth: A single seed withheld doesn't produce anything unless it is planted in the ground and dies. If it dies, it will produce a lot of grain.” (Lk. 12: 24, emphasis added).
