By not recognizing this truth, many find it difficult to relate properly with the Holy Spirit to draw upon the power of His indwelling presence.
Not embracing this truth makes religious Christians relate with the Holy Spirit as though He were still very far away from them.
You hear them singing songs welcoming the Holy Spirit, or telling Him to come, into their midst, whenever they’re in worship, not knowing He’s already present, not just within their midst, but more so living inside them individually, and doesn’t need them telling Him welcome, or “to come in their midst.”
Religion
truly is dangerous. It’s the adulteration or perversion of the truth.
We are simply to ACKNOWLEDGE the Holy Spirit Himself, in presence, residing within us. A sort of like saying “Hello mighty one living in me, I know you're here!”
WHY THE HOLY SPIRIT NEEDED
A PHYSICAL BODY
The Holy Spirit needed a body for two reasons.
· *For
GOD’S benefit — to manifest Himself on the Earth.
· *For our
benefit.
FOR GOD’S BENEFIT
Without a physical body, there’s no way GOD’S going to function on earth directly in this New Covenant or Church age.
Before the birth of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit i.e. GOD, didn’t have a physical body, until He became flesh in the person of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at His birth.
Scripture
speaks of this in John 1: 14 and Hebrew 10: 5.
As we read below;
“And the Word (Christ) became flesh (human, incarnate) and tabernacled (fixed His tent of flesh, lived awhile) among us; and we [actually] saw His glory (His honor, His majesty), such glory as an only begotten son receives from his father, full of grace (favor, loving-kindness) and truth.” (Jhn. 1:14, AMP)
Or,
Heb 10:5 “So when Jesus the Messiah came into the world he said, “Since your ultimate desire was not another animal sacrifice, you have clothed me with a body that I might offer myself instead!” (Heb. 10: 5, TPT)
But realize that the coming of Christ was for two primary reasons. The first was to clear all the misconceptions that people had about GOD and His character, the other was of redeeming humanity, which He has accomplished once forever, for all, and has since then returned to be with our Father, but will return again physically, to take the Church (the Body of Christ) away with Him.
But at the moment, since Jesus isn’t physically here, present, how then can GOD still function on earth in the time being? It can only be through us — the Body of Christ.
It is for this reason it became necessary that the Holy Spirit, having come, makes our physical body His permanent dwelling home, to give GOD the right and legitimacy to function on earth. He now lives within us and operates through us.
This
indwelling of the Holy Spirit within our body signifies and ensures that in
Christ, our body is GOD’S permanent home, and His operating office, here on
earth.
Therefore, through our physical body, the Holy Spirit has the power, legitimacy, or authorization to function in the earth or physical realm, without which He couldn’t.
It’s through our body that the Holy Spirit expresses Himself.
FOR OUR BENEFIT
The
benefits of our body having become the permanent body or dwelling place of the
Holy Spirit are too numerous to enumerate here. But we’re just going to take a
look at a few, to build up our knowledge and understanding of this truth,
wherein our confidence rests. That said.
One of the many benefits of our body being the Holy Spirit’s dwelling place is that; it ensures that no strange spiritual entity gains access or enters into us to dwell in our body.
This is good news indeed because it simply implies that a Believer in Christ can never be possessed by Satan, any demon, or evil spirit.
This is so because the Holy Spirit can never cohabit with any unclean or demonic spirit.
What I am saying is that, as a Believer, any demonic or evil spirit can never possess you. Such is totally impossible.
This good news should come as a great relief to a lot of Believers seeking the truth, to whom religion has taught otherwise.
Secondly, our body being the body of the Holy Spirit also implies that the Holy Spirit keeps our body free of sicknesses and diseases, as we cooperate with Him in faith.
Thirdly, the Holy Spirit having made His abode within us, implies that the physical body of every Believer is holy, and consecrated — being a holy habitation of GOD’S Spirit. (Eph. 2: 22)
We are already holy because the Holy Spirit can never dwell in an unholy place. But since He dwells in us as Believers, it implies that we are truly holy, and this isn't by our efforts, but by His indwelling presence in us, being that our body is his.
Realize that wherever GOD dwells, He first makes it holy. We are holy because the Holy Spirit dwells in us.
The number four benefit is that the Holy Spirit has the authorization to change our present body, into the redemption body, when Christ returns to rapture the Church away from this present corrupt world. Hallelujah!
